‘This week the Clifton Centre took part in the International ‘Talk like a pirate day’.
Several staff members donned pirate costumes whilst the pupils took part in a treasure hunt; reading about the lives of fictional and non-fictional pirates to find the clues in order to gain access to the treasure chest!
This activity helped the pupils with their reading and inference skills, a key literacy aim of the centre. ’
