Parent’s Coffee Mornings

Last year we began running coffee mornings at Clifton for our parents and so far these have been well attended. We provided a relaxed atmosphere for parents who feel they want to come along. During the sessions we discuss anything that parents feel would benefit them whilst relaxing over refreshments. We have discussed parenting styles and at the most recent session we dipped into a conversation about the impact trauma can have on the teenage brain.

The point of the sessions is to welcome parents into our school community so that they feel supported by the staff who teach and look after the well-being of their child. Moving forwards, these sessions will now be run each half-term on Friday mornings.

(parent quote)

‘I‘ve really enjoyed the coffee mornings that I’ve attended at Clifton. They’ve got me out of the house and get me being around other people. It’s also good to know who’s looking after after my child. You can listen or talk and you don’t feel any pressure. It’s a relaxed atmosphere and well worth going to. I would encourage more parents to come along.’
