Over the past few months, students from the Clifton Centre have participated in a Clifton World Cup football tournament.

Aims

1. To build resilience

2. To encourage participation in structured, competitive sport that are rules based.

3. To strengthen peer relationships as well as between staff & students.

4.  To encourage teamwork and respect.

5. To provide students with a sense of pride and to help students to feel that they are part of a team.

The students’ involved displayed a tremendous attitude and their commitment and work ethic were second to none. Their general behaviour and conduct was excellent throughout and staff were impressed to see the students working so well as a team.

The competition concluded with England as the winning team and France as runners up. A presentation took place on Friday in which students were presented with various awards, ranging from winners trophies, to sportsmanship awards, to player of the tournament awards.

A big thank you to all of the students and staff involved! Well done!
