Manchester Museums Trip

Monday 17th Mar 2025

Last week, a group of our Year 10 and Year 11 students embarked on an exciting educational trip to Manchester’s Science and Manchester Museums, where they had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the human body and the wonders of science.
At the Science and Industry Museum, students explored the Human Body Exhibition, gaining fascinating insights into anatomy, physiology, and medical advancements. This hands-on experience allowed them to see real-life applications of what they study in the classroom, from how organs function to the latest breakthroughs in medical science.
Following this, we visited the Manchester Museum as part of Science Week, where students engaged with a wide range of scientific exhibits, from biodiversity and evolution to ancient discoveries that have shaped our world today. They had the chance to interact with museum experts, explore real specimens, and see how science connects different aspects of life.
By stepping outside the classroom, students developed a deeper appreciation for biology and its role in our everyday lives. The visit also helped them:

  • Strengthen their understanding of cell organisation, the human body, and scientific research.
  • Discover how science influences medicine, technology, and the world around us.
  • Gain inspiration for future studies and careers in healthcare, research, and engineering.
